I started this thread as "Best of 2017" but changed it to "This Year's Best" to reflect on your best moments of the past year.

In 2018, my best moment was a road trip to Creed, CO in the convertible.  The farthest I've driven a classic and it scenery was amazing!

Aar1064

A good year around here as well.

My AAR picked up a GoodGuys Muscle Car of the Year finalist award. Wasn't expecting this and I think I cried like a baby.

Was invited to the Rapid Transit System display at MCACN this year and AAR won a Concours Gold award and once again I think I cried like a baby. The highlight of the trip is that my Dad came up from Arkansas and got to go with me and my grandson.

Youngest daughter bought her first house and finished school. Hooray for her!

My wife finally agreed that I need a new toolbox and ok'd the purchase of one. Funny thing is, I'm finished with car. Hmm, guess it'll come in handy for another project. Think she may be saying it's ok???

@js27 I can't imagine going through that and have thought about you many times after reading it for the first time. Prayers to you man.

Probably the two best parts of 2018, family-wise, my Son was born on 01/23/18. He's coming up on one year old.

Work-wise, the program I lead went into production in July and has been very successful for us.

Thank You Aar 1064-for thinking about me. Congratulations on your achievements this year . Your AAR is gorgeous and deserves all the attention and awards.

This was a good year for us. 1st off I am still here to report in-LOL. My 1 year check up went well with my heart -not any better but not any worse. My plan to sell everything is still going on. I sold my 67 GTX and sold about 1/2 of my parts collection. I took the add off Cars On Line for my Challenger. Now I have room in my garage to work on it and I picked up a complete correct F-383 HP for it I may just do a freshen up resto and install the 383 and spring for a correct Dash Pad and Console if I feel up to it.  If I do this I will have a nice 440 for sale-LOL.  Overall 2018 has been good to us and hope 2019 will be even better.
HAPPY HEALTHY SAFE NEW YEAR to all you GREAT people.

For me the best thing was my decision to retire from farming. At this point the farm has been sold, the deal closed and the money is in the bank. I have started to deal with selling off the equipment. So far I have no regrets about my decision and no sellers remorse. I'm excited about finding out what lies ahead for me. 2019 is going to awesome!

@Aar1064 Your car is absolutely gorgeous. Red is the best colour for an AAR and yours has me  :drooling:

If we're talking cars I finished my challenger, modified the garage on my house and got a 2nd lift and found and started building another Cuda.

My best for 2018 is coming back from the dead... 2017 was a real *%^@%$@!  Really took a toll on me phsyc wise.  Which led into some health issues. I gotta thank Murray for getting the ball rolling !

Happy New Year!

Ok in the beginning of 2018,  went to Grenada Sandals for vacation . . Later went to San Francisco work convention, went to Buffalo New York bowling, went to Carlisle to visit friends and cars and also went to Chicago for the MCACN show.

Accomplished painting the complete interior of my home right before I installed new hardwood floors throughout . . Was a lot of work.  Did play some at the lake and in the backyard Inground pool.  Went to some local car shows, spent time with family and or course worked.  All in all a decent year . .

Now for 2019, leaving in 2 weeks for Barbados Sandals for a week, then Vegas in March for work convention, then Vegas again in May for nationals bowling, once back to Michigan . . Headed for Punta Cana in the end of May, Carlisle in July, this year going to the Canada Moparfest and visit family in August . . Not sure after that!
Drive it like you stole it . . . And they're CHASING you!

Car wise it was a great year for me.  After limiting driving my convertible for several years due to issues like bad oil leakage, I had engine work and some other work done on it last year, and got it back in time to drive it around a bit late in the season.  This year I got my dash pad restored by Just Dashes, and after it was installed, and the AC work finished, it was ready to go by Memorial Day which is pretty much the start of our season.  Made up for recent years by driving it to many cruises and shows!
I got my '71 V code out of storage Labor Day weekend for the first time in over 2 years and took it to 6 cruises in 3 weeks before taking it back to storage.  It was cool as many had never seen it and it was like I'd got a new vintage ride!
Now if I only had closer storage so I could get it out more regularly, I certainly plan to drive it more in '19, "if you can't sell it, drive it" will be my new motto!
And then in November, after a last minute scramble having a shop fix a number of things that the previous shop had screwed up on it, I got my T/A ready just under the wire to have it in the 10th anniversary MCACN long time owners display. I had a great time at the show, met several members including Chet and his up and coming car guy grandson, won OE gold, and met a reporter for Dodge Garage, who took pictures and interviewed me, and I ended up being featured in the 1st installment of a series he is writing on original and long term Mopar owners!  :veryexcited:

Like @blown motor , retiring was the best moment for me this past year. I'm happier, my wife is happier, and I'm actually making progress on the Challenger.
