While making sure no water entered my new trunk floor I came across this trunk lock leak. The little door where the key enters doesn't shut hard enough to keep water out. I'm pretty sure the series of pictures explains everything. Is there a fix / solution to this other than buying a new trunk lock?

Thanks
John

@Jay Bee I understand your concern but for the rare instance that it's in the rain is this really an issue. If you do get caught once every year two just give it a wipe inside.

I hear both of ya.
It was surprising how much dripped in with just a few squirts from a spray bottle.
I think I'll just put a ShamWow under the trunk mat in that area.

@Jay Bee  take it off and bring it to a locksmith.  :alan2cents:

One shot of Flex Seal spray will cure that bad boy.  You may have a little trouble with the lock, but it won't leak.   :pokeeye:

Wow almost 5 mins to open a window to reply !
The chrome cap can be removed / cut with side cutters & replaced with a new cap thi swill allow you to clean lube or modify things to get the flap to close properly , or a locksmith like myself can help you out .
