Can somebody please tell me where the date codes are on the upper control arm? Thank you, Joe

I guess I'll find out when I tear it apart to change out the control arm bushings. When I bought the car, it had poli type bushings on the upper & lower arms. It rides marginally better than Dad's old 1947 Dodge pick-up. I found the dates on the lower arms. They seem to fall in line with the production date of the car. Even though it's not a numbers car, I didn't want to lose any more of it. Thanks for all that read my post.....Joe

Hey Joe, I'm not aware of any date coding on the UCA...I'm thinking that's why so many views with no replies...

My notes suggest there is indeed a 4-digit date code on the UCA.  But I never bothered to record WHERE the date code is stamped.

My notes read the date code format is YDDD, where Y is the last digit of the calendar year, and the DDD is the day of year.

examples:
0320 = Nov 16th 1970
1026 = Jan 26th 1971

But I don't recall ever verifying this.

edit" the dates may appear on the top-side of the UCA, near the upper ball joint.

While on this subject of upper control arm, I noticed the mounting bolts/ adjusters were put in the wrong direction where the head of the bolt was visible from the engine compartment. I noticed the alignment people had a field day making adjustments. Could this be part of their problem? Thank you, Joe

avatar_Katfish @Katfish When it cools down here, I'll take it apart and see what I can find. Still over 90 degrees in my garage....Joe

I found an image online.  Looks like dates.  Supposedly these are from an A body.  I'll try and look at my car this weekend now that I have an idea where to look

Cool. The 1st number is the year & the next 3 are the Julian date. I didn't think to look there. Thank you, Joe

Well, if there are date codes on my upper arms, I'll need to strip them. They were either epoxied or powder coated. Since it was determined that the bushings top & bottom are rubber & new, I'll just leave it alone for now. Shocks were also correct for the car, so I just need to get used to the ride. Thank you all, Joe
