Good heavens!! That's one giant pile of who knows what you're going to get into. I'd be kicking more than the tires on that before making an offer. But he is right, not a lot of them lot there.

He would have been better off cleaning out the inside and take pictures of the floor pans. If the frame and floors are solid it's likely a $8K-$10K car

It amazes me what people think something in this condition is worth just because a restored car has value. They really should add up what it would cost to restore it before they ask such a ridiculous price.

Prices of everything, especially e-bodies, is crazy right now.

It's called supply and demand....There's not enough 1971 Cudas available for the amount of people that want one.

Yes but if that's worth 16K what is a nice restored one worth? You know you're going to but 30-40 K into that one even doing it yourself.

I just posted the link because I look for cuda's on a daily basis and rarely do I find a 71 BS for sale that is not all purdied up.

Likely a lot more to restore this one correctly....So let's say you spend $70K on this car total....You will have one really nice 1971 Cuda that is likely worth $45K-$50K depending on the restoration.

I think the days of being in this hobby to "make money" are long gone....

I was looking at an auction for a nice 69 Charger RT. It was matching and triple black. It was bid up to 43k and no sale. It's listed at a dealers for 51k. It ended and eBay found me a match for the auction. It was an almost rust free basket case 69 car, faded and half sanded and interior was sun baked and trashed. In orther words, left for dead, parked and sitting in the Utah desert for 35 years. It was a pale yellow, 383 2 barrel, column auto with a four speed cobbled in it. It needed EVERYTHING. Right now it's bid up to 22k. My theory is that there are just more people that can get 20 right now and spend money as they go on the car. With muscle cars being able to be financed now, you think that would be different. Idk.
