Early build.  What motivation would there be for a scammer to build a fake 383 automatic around those tags though?

Especially now that the VIN is gonna pop up in any search...

Weird car, about the only "big" option is cruise control.... And allot of shiny trim.... Light Blue, Blue interior & a white vinyl top...

I would think a set of tags like that would not work for remaking a car and reselling it.  So my opinion of what those are for are people who either hang them in their garages ( like me but cheaper)  or those who take the tags and put them on a car that has lost it's vin tag and fender tag. While not a good thing to do, sometimes that action can save a car that has lost it's identity.  after all a driving car is better than a parts car or scrap.  Although not a "good" thing, it has a purpose.

I was reading the other thread and the guy brought up that people will steal a car and put the tags on the stolen car and then register it.  I didn't think about that.  I seem to always think of the honest things.

those are the origins of laws against re-tagging vehicles & obliterating the identity of the "donor" car

most states have a method for putting a STATE ISSUED VIN on cars that legitimately lost their identity

I don't see the cruise (N88) but I also do not see a stripe code (STANDARD on a Challenger R/T)  :takealook: first day of production hiccup  :dunno:

anyone have a '70 Challenger R/T without a stripe V6_ / V9_ (or body-side-moulding V5_) code?

 :brainiac:
first scheduled day of Los Angeles production
it is the second assigned VIN I know of for a "production" Challenger R/T at the LA plant

At a Buy it Now price of $1700, it's clear that the seller is encouraging fraud.  If you see something like this, report the item to EBay as it is strictly against their rules to sell VIN plates.  It's that simple.

I wonder where the actual car is ?? and how bad was it ?

My mistake, going off the top of my head & saw the N85 which is actually Tach & is standard on a R/T...
