Not yet.  I gave it another half-hearted tug but it didn't budge and I haven't had a chance to get back to it.  That socket is pretty hard so if it is supposed to flex somehow to release, it isn't going to be easy.  Should be back in the garage Wed to install the grill and adjust the shifter mechanism so it will drop into gear properly.  Need to look that procedure up.

Making progress in the negative direction.  I haven't touched anything for a few days.  Now when I turn on the left blinker, the front, rear, and fender top lights come on and stay on and I don't hear the blinker relay.  The indicator on the dash is still out.  The RH direction works normally. Maybe that light failed completely now?  I thought that when they stayed on like that it meant a bad bulb in the system but I haven't found a reference to confirm it so I may be delusional, again.

I'll check the bulbs I can get to and then verify the grounds.

Still can't get that bulb socket out of the back of the speedo by hand.  Tools next.

The black plastic sockets twist to remove
Often when it will not flash a bulb is burned out
