What is correct battery for a 71 383?

Is it is a battery topper available?

If not where did you get your battery from and are you happy with it?

I hate auto part store batteries..,

Batterycentralmall.com builds the Mopar battery. You can get a battery topper instead if you want

24 series, a topper is available.

Topper is a better way to go , you can spend a fortune on a correct looking battery but it will still die in a few years again .
Should be a Yellow top

God am i glad i don't care about "looking original".    I never take my car to car shows!!!!  No way i'm paying people to look at my car, and then hope i get a $5 plastic trophy after having been held hostage from the 8-11 am registration, until the 3 pm awards ceremony.

I take my car to cruise-ins, cars and coffee, and to nursing homes where the establishment gives all "cruisers" a free meal and thank you for bringing your car, where their patrons truly appreciate looking at the classics.

I just bought a Group 24 700CCA/825 battery for my 74 Challenger.   It is a sealed battery, and carries a 3 yr free replacement plus 2 yr prorated warranty ...so 5 yr in total.   Cost...  $98 at Walmart !

Oh, and i ride on real radial tires, not inferior bias ply, or radials made to look like bias ply or god forbid, poly-glass !!   :1place:

I do my cars for me as well however I do usually like my stuff to look fairly original, that's what makes me happy.

:iagree: Even though I have headers and etc those off the shelf batteries just jump out to me like a sore thumb. I prefer the correct looking battery. Topper is next choice and I will say the off the shelf batteries are far superior in cranking amperage and reserve.

Agreed. The battery stands out like a sore thumb.

I too do my car for me and never go to shows. An occasional cruise nite or local get together, bias ply tires and all...

The repro AGM batteries are Odyssey inside.

You need a better than average charger to keep them going longer than just 2 years. 7AH

I just bought this charger. Was using a cheap Harbor Freight one. Crossing my fingers on my battery as I'm starting my 8th year on mine. Soon as it doesn't turn the engine with enthusiasm I'll replace it.
