Hi everyone
  72 Challenger. 340.
Converted battery terminal wires to side post. ( don't ask why..lol) 25 years ago someone thought it was a good idea.long story
Any way through the years I have always known it's best to get out and start her up once in a while or just disconnect the battery altogether. There is a constant draw on the battery.but slow enough to last a good week before any problems pop up.but you can bet. You slip away for 2 weeks or more... Dead battery.
Is there any good way to find the culprit of what is killing the battery? Aside from connecting every bulb and every power wire one at time.
Also any one else out there share this same issue? Do you know to disconnect the battery if you plan to not start it for more then 2 weeks.
Weekend to weekend wouldn't be a problem. There would be enough it would crank right up.
Thanks for advice and opinions.
It's Amazing what we can accomplish~

With just a little bit of hard work.

And a whole LOT of complaining!!... lol

Bullitt-

I bought this economy Amp-Clamp for that very purpose.... It turned out to be a bad battery that would hold a charge disconnected but a small drain would drop the voltage in just a few days enough my Dad's Dakota wouldn't turn over.

As my first test I checked a stereo speaker wire & it registered the current flow so pretty sensitive & the volt/ohm feature works well. It's small enough to get into most any place you would need to use it.

Amp clamp and start pulling fuses one at a time.

Do you have the ralley dash with the clock ?
Welcome to the site as well

A quick easy test is to disconnect the negative battery cable and connect a test light between the negative battery post and the negative battery cable. If it lights up something is on or drawing voltage. Start unplugging things until the light goes out. Of course like they said if your battery has a dead cell it will drain itself.

Yes Rallye dash with clock.
Great tips guys thanks so much

The clock in the rallye dash is a constant drain on the battery as it runs continually.  I have a rallye dash also and leave a battery tender hooked up to my battery when it's parked.  No issues with a dead battery, even after it sits for a few months during the winter.

Sorta of guide to assist you.  Firstly, do make sure the batt is good.

If you do store your car for long periods like me, I hook up a Batt tender all year long when not in use, just as mentioned by another member.
