Dumb tach wire question

Getting my wiring harnesses back into the engine compartment and I noticed that there is one long white wire coming off the corner of the bulkhead connector. I'm assuming it's the tach wire feed because other harnesses from non tach cars don't have this wire. When I got the car, the harness was in super nice condition however this long white wire was coiled up and not connected to anything for some reason. Plus the cut the terminal off the end. Does it go to the negative side of the coil?
