There was originally a 3" wide piece of gaffers tape across the top of the turn signal lens from my 1970 Cuda.  See attached picture.  The tape went across the top rear of the lens, and extended a short distance down each side of the lens.  Anybody know the purpose of the gaffers tape in this location?  I assume it was to help direct more of the light out the front of the lens, but that's just a guess.

I too, would guess that that was the sole purpose  is it a "tape" or more like a vinyl  ?

It wasn't Gaffers tape.  It was to keep the light from going thru the top of the light under the hood.  ECS Automotive has the correct vinyl sticker for the lenses.
