71 cuda installing a reverse light harness

Does the dash wire run out the firewall and under the car to the switch or???
Its a 4 speed car!

There's a rubber grommet just above the gas pedal. The wire from the light exits the car then plugs into the transmission wire harness by the bulkhead

I don't have any hole near my gas pedal for the reverse light.   It was originally an automatic (1970).   I ended up routing the reverse light wire to feed the dash reverse light (along with several other wires) through the "caplug" in the firewall that filled the hole where a manual windshield washer fluid pump outlet would go.
