Guys, like it says, I ONLY have a choice of two batteries, a red top or a yellow top Optima, which one of the two would be better suited to my high compression stroker small block with EFI and electric fans, no stereo, and don't bother responding if your going to rag on optima, like I said, I only have two options, red or yellow.

Since my hands are tied with only two choices . . .
Red = standard start with minimal electric draw (i.e. no power windows, a big stereo amp, mini van electric door, etc, etc)
Yellow = deep cycle, good when electric loads are high, as in instances listed above.

For what you describe either would work, neither would be harmful, and if it matters to you, get the one with the color top thats more estetically appealing with your engine or paint.

Heres additional help:

Thanks AAR,
Appreciate the info and I'll look into that link

Yellow it is.

Sitting in staging lanes with an auxiliary water pump and fan running is enough to tell me a red top might not cut the work load.

Thanks again AAR
