Low fuel Relay 2983828

[R/T's 4 R/P]

I saw there were a couple of posts on this but not with the detail I was looking for.
Does anyone have a picture of where it is mounted? Is it attached to the dash frame or the body of the car?

I see there are relays out there, some NOS and some used. Prices seem to be all over the place.
Do these relays usually go bad?
Can they be tested to make sure they are still good?
Can they be repaired?
Were aftermarket versions available?
Any experience with these relays and the new gas tank sending units that read at Empty when there is still half a tank of gas? I would probably get a new sending unit, so would prefer not to have the light on prematurely.

I have a low fuel relay in my car but I've never seen the light come on. I'm not sure if it's because I just never ran the tank low enough or if the relay is not working. I'd like to know if there is a test also. As far as the sending units go all the after market units will never read anywhere close to right. I finally gave up after three different ones and bit the bullet and spent the money on an NOS unit. It works great.
