I have a 74 challenger Rallye, signal lights worked for awhile, then started to cut in and out intermittently when in use. Now they do not work at all. Hazard lights and brake lights both work. Flasher works (put a new one in). At the moment my front indicator on driver's side has been eliminated awhile ago when i put on new fenders, still have power to passenger side indicator (still there tucked under hood) when hazards are on, but no power when turn signal  is on. Turn signal switch in steering column?

Thanks

Chryco Psycho

Test at the bottom of the column
Brown & green wires if there is no power there then the switch is bad , if there IS power there trace further , bulkhead connector & plug behind the kick panel

billdogg5

Alright ill test those areas, thanks alot for the advice

billdogg5

Ok heres a picture of my column, what exactly should i be testing for power? No power to green or brown near the  hazard switch

billdogg5

I do have power to the white wire going to the signal cam when hazards are on, if that helps

Chryco Psycho

White brings the power to the switch , green & brown send power out to the lights when the switch is activated either turning the lever or pulling the hazard switch

billdogg5

Got power  to green and brown when hazards are on, nothing when signal light switch is up or down

billdogg5

How does power get to signal light switch when hazards are off?

Chryco Psycho

Power is fed through the flasher  , it uses a different flasher for 4 way & turn , one is attached to the ashtray  the other to the steering column

billdogg5

Oh really didn't know that it was a different flasher for turn signals,

Jay Bee

Thought I'd make up this picture, it's worth a thousand words.

billdogg5

That really does help alot, thanks man. Ill try changing that flasher, so far i definitely cant hear it activate

billdogg5

Problem solved it was the flasher!! The one behind cigarette lighter.
Thanks alot for your time and patience!

Very much appreciated!
