Strange noise with ammeter

Hi!

New problem with my car...
On the first position of the iginition there is a strange noise behind the gauges. And the ammeter become a little crazy.
As i know ammeter is prone to fire i didn t try to crank the engine.
Here is a video you can here the noise.

Any advice is welcome.

I can understand how that would be a little cause for alarm. Other than disconnecting and bypassing it I can't offer much help ....

That's definitely a issue. Looks like you have a electrical short going on watching the meter but I'm not sure what that noise is. Obviously they are related. Your going to have to track down where that noise is coming from. I would start by looking at relays. You could possibly have a relay shorting out. Any kind of short will make your amp gauge do that. Watching it bounce makes me think relay.

Well, i am going to remove the gauges and check the wiring!

I have to test the ammeter gauge. Maybe it's time to convert the ammeter in volt gauge with the sunpro...

It's not necessarily in the gauges. It could be anywhere in the car, that is the purpose of the AMP gauge, to alert you to anything unusual like the short you have.
I haven't seen Cody's video but I'm sure it will cover it. The first thing I would do is pull relays and fuses and then key on each time to see if that will narrow down which circuit it is.

100% correct... It's not the gauge, the gauge is telling you there's a problem.... Isolate the problem by eliminating loads. (remove fuses)  Though honestly I'd start by making sure the battery is charged cause the ammeter does wacky stuff if the battery is discharged...

Is your radio off when that noise presents itself?

Either way, I would bypass that ammeter before another Bastille day occurs!

Well, i was ready to test and check as you told me and i gave it another try....and the this time NO problem. No noise and gauge didn t show any trouble.

After reflexion the only thing i did touch today (last week end i had no problem) is the circuit breaker installed on my battery. And i suppose i didn't tighten it enough. Possible?

If it is my real problem i feel really stupid 

Anyway, i started to remove all the gauges to check the wiring under the dash (i have to fix dash light, reverse light, and wipers)

Battery is loaded
Fuses are Ok
Radio is not connected

More than bypass the amp gauges i was thinking about convert it in volt gauge like in this topic:

IF the gauge itself was making a noise it could have been a problem internally with the gauge but just wildly jumping the problem is elsewhere for sure

Well, i really think my problem came from my circuit breaker wich was badly tighten

gauges are removed and i am checking all my wiring. Not a bad thing anyway.

I found this box behind my glove box. Don t know what it is...
The red wire was connected to road lamp switch (probably came from a cuda with my 70 rallye gauges) and the black to the ground on the sterring colum (pics 4)

I have already removed a hidden circuit breaker with a switch and the clutch pedal safety ( i don t remind the correct name)

I will remove it and look behind, maybe another clue.
Looks like an electronix box to manage multiple functions?

Exactly what it is... It had a key fob transmitter, the antenna is for the receiver...
