Regarding aiming of sealed beam LED headlights.   It is much more difficult than the old Incandescent, because they give a much broader light, there is no center point.

In the good old days, mechanics could use a box that attached to the headlight itself and then look at the level bubble to see how it was for up and down and left and right.    Those dont exist anymore.

So what i did was parked my factory adjusted Chrysler 200 that has halogen headlights next to it about 20 feet away from my garage doors  and then adjusted them to look about the same.  After that i drove it at night and observed.  Lastly, i had my wife drive her car the opposite direction at night on a level road and observe whether is blinded her either in Low or High beam usage.

I love my LED's in my 74 Challenger...can see so much better!!

Good idea on the setup comparison for adjusting them. Thanks for update

I switched to LED headlights several years ago. Much better lights than oem for the non purist. Regarding aiming I used the measurements in the manual with a piece of masking tape at a prescribed level on the wall (or plywood sheet) at a prescribed distance. Then adjusted the centre mass of the brightest area to that tape. For lows and highs. Went for a drive...light was fantastic but people were flashing me. So I dropped the brightest point of the lows and went for a drive again. Nobody flashed so I figured I was good.

avatar_Jay Bee @Jay Bee How did your aiming go?

avatar_dodj @dodj I wasn't as meticulous as you, rather I went the trial and error method until I was content enough. The right one was raised up to look more level with the left and pointing slightly more towards the right (curb). No one has ever flashed me.
