I remember on CC.c I think it was bullitt (maybe?) showed me how loading down the electrical system can make very peculiar things happen.

I took my seat out last night so I could reach up to tie both sides of the AMP gauge wiring onto one stud. 

I'll find my short and make that solid next.        When it shorts the stereo dies as well as the fuel gauge.      Easy fix.    Pita to get to though.
