Under Dash Antenna

Ok I know under dash antennas don't have the best reputation but I didn't feel like drilling into the fender after the car was painted.  Besides I'll be using my IPhone for music most times anyway.  I would rather hear the car but my daughter likes her music.  So the question is I have this under dash antenna and it appears that it needs power with the red and black wires.  Anyone ever see this?  Do I terminate those or just plug the cable in the back of the radio and call it a day.  Thanks

I had one of those a few years back in a jeep.
If I remember correctly, they dont really work without power.
Maybe there better now?

I would try it with out, and if it needs better reception then wire it in.
