Wiring the dash and using a harness from a 74.  What is this blue box over the heater controls?

Possibly some sort of seat belt interlock system ? I'm not sure.
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Like Alan said, seat belt module...

I popped the cover on it and there is a circuit board inside.  Quite a few wires going into it.  My factory manual is from 1970 so it doesn't show it.  Otherwise, most of the harness is the same.

Looks to have a 12 gauge yellow and a 12 gauge tan in it.  Car have power windows. Does one of those wires go to the ammeter ?  I'll try to find a 74 wiring diagram, that will tell us.   :unitedstates: :rebelflag"

As Alan and Wild have said.........seat belt module...'74 only.
The ones I have are orange. Never seen them in blue b4.

My 74 Charger has that seat belt interlock module. I've seen them in white, blue/green and Yellow-tan/orange. Here it is mounted on my 74 Charger dash frame.

I'm studying these  ----http://www.mymopar.com/downloads/1974/74ChallengerB.JPG     http://www.mymopar.com/downloads/1974/74ChallengerA.JPG   But they don't say the gauge of the wire.    We will figure it out.       :unitedstates: :rebelflag"

If it is for the seat belts, what does it actually do?  Since mine is not a 74, do I need to be concerned?  Just want to make sure I don't run into an issue like the car won't start without the belts.

I think, but not sure that trying to use a 74 harness is going to work . I will continue to research.   :slapme5:

Just to show it, this orangish one is on my 74 charger.
With the stupid seat belt and seat bottom sensor. Got that reset switch in the engine bay to go along with all that crap.

What year is your car?  Mixing years on a harness can be a mistake.... Lots of components stay the same but harnesses definitely change allot from year to year & model/option pkgs....  The 74 seat belt interlock does lock out the starter unless the belt is buckled when the weight sensor in the seat shows there is enough weight on the seat to close the contacts....   It can be bypassed but it just shows you need to know what your getting into when swapping harnesses..
