440 6 BBL intake manifold color

Hey guys i,ve been looking at photos of 1970 440 6bbl engines and it looks like almost all the intake manifolds were painted orange the same as the engine . Mine is a 1970 and was built 10/69 and has the aluminum Edelbrock intake that is bare aluminum , question is should it be painted or should it be bare aluminum ?
I have found no signs of any orange paint on it is if someone stripped the paint off of it they did a really good job at it .
