I'am in the process of acquiring a RT U code challenger and the original engine isn't in the car, but will come along with the purchase..
My question is are there any transport crates or containers for the 440 short block that I could purchase to aid in the transport home which is 1,000 miles

Thanks
Brad

I got my HP block from Texas and the guy put it on a small pallet and wrapped it with moving blankets and then wrapped that with plastic. Showed up with no problems.

Guess it depends on the shipper.

Nail some 2x6" boards together & set the block into them

You might try contacting some moving/freight companies in the origin area to see what they may have to offer.  Also confirm with the shipping company that they can handle a pallet, if that's your choice, or if they need it to be on casters.

Good luck.

If you are transporting it yourself, I would do what Chryco suggested and use some 2x6 or 2x8 and build the base so the oil pan sits on the 2x's and then is supported and protects the oil pan. Then just strap it down.

If you are going to use a transporter I had a similar challenge last month. I bought a part that I needed shipped from Florida to Las Vegas. The seller put it on a pallet and the trucking company picked it up and it was here in only 4 days. I did have to go to the shipping dock to save a few bucks. It was only $215. The weight was around 200lbs. The customer service guy really was helpful in getting this done. May be others, but my experience was flawless.
