I am dropping off  my 440 block next week at the machine shop.I am collecting ideas for the build.I would like 500-550HP at the flywheel.I am thinking 440 source heads and stroking kit at 500 or 512 kit.I want good vacuum for power brakes. Thanks for the input.

Here is the parts list of my 505 ci stroker that ran 440 hp and 530 tq at the wheels - https://forum.e-bodies.org/engine-transmission-and-rear-end/4/505-stroker-parts-list/26/

Thanks for the input.Does the motor have good vacuum? The cam doesn't seem to be to radical.

Great vacuum as I run power brakes no problem. Also, nice and street-able with tons of TQ.  Just ask @Chryco Psycho

I have a very similar parts list in my 512 build. Tons of power, pulls like a freight train. Big block or go home  :haha:

My fav build is the 440/512 , I actually prefer the 508 , why bore it .055 over if you can fix it at .020 or .030 over & retain the cylinder wall thickness
Vacuum is all about Camshaft , I can help you design one or pick one .
The 440 Source heads are a good choice , more power than the Eddys & better price by far , If you want to get serious I would look at the Trick Flow heads instead

I like my Lunati HYD Roller! part #60312 in my 451"  :D

edit: part # has changed.... it's now  20230712
20230712 60312 2200 - 6200 .535"/.550" 231/239 282/290 110/106 Hyd/Hyd
High performance street cam. Likes
upgraded intake, carb and exhaust.
Needs 2800 RPM stall converter in most
cases. Requires 9.5:1 compression for
maximum performance.

I have the same cam. I like it but I often wonder how mine would've been with the 60313 can I almost went with.

I have heard Crower has some good Mopar cams but I have not tried them .

It is very easy to buy a Cam that is too big , generally it move the powerband higher in RPM lose vacuum & drivability & require higher RPM stall converters & Highly modified carbs just to get a few more ponies @ 7000 rpm [ @303mopar  knows exactly what I am talking about !! ] Very few people will put up with a car that idles at 1300 RPM , launch the car at 3000 rpm or higher from every street light & shift @ 7000 RPM , every time they drive the car !! Cam Companies are partially to blame , the "baby" cam is the same price as the "killer" cam !!
Having said that I did this in my 440  Duster , , At least it was a 4 spd with OD , I could drive it somewhat normally , & even get decent highway mileage , I would shift around 7200 RPM & it was not done pulling there , probably would have gone to 8000 easy , I even drove it to work a few times at 5 Am , it had fender headers , 3 feet of exhaust with turbo mufflers under the doors  & 3"  diameter pipe .  :crazytalk:

Mostly I have been using Lunati Engle & Bullitt cams with great results

@B5fourspeed

Did you buy a Cam yet?

I agree with CP. Call Bullet Cams.
They are basically UltraDyne Cams from years ago being re done.
