440 source fluid damper

bought a new 450 source fluid damper and pulley for a 70 dodge challenger 440 motor.   my question is :  does the damper go all the way down flush with the end of the crank?  i used a harmonic balancer installer and it lacks less than 1/8 inch to being flush.  is this normal? the pulley is also off about the same distance too far from the waterpump pulley.. i cranked the install tool down as far as i could

called 440 source. they confirmed the damper does not go all the way flush with the crank snout.

I would agree it stop on the shoulder on the crank , good to confirm with the maker of the part tho
