All,
I am in the the process of building a 540 Stroker.  I have the block (BMP) and rotating assembly.
Looking for recommendations on heads.  I have a set of Trick Flow 240's on the shelve. Are these sufficient, or should I be looking at the 270's?  Intake to be used is a Modman with six pack fuel injection. This is not an all out drag vehicle.  Some track, but mostly street.  Will be using hydraulic roller and Gatorman lifters.  Cam has not been speced as of yet.  Engine compression to be around 10.5:1.

I guess I need more info ...
I would suggest that 540 CI will use the 270 heads no problem
But what do you plan to do with it race , what RPM , Street Use , gearing ?
Basically what do you plan to use it for ?

Chryo,

Let me clarify:

1.  Mostly street use with occasional drag strip fun.
2.  RPM, 6000 rpm shift.
3.  Rear Gear, 4.10.
4.  Transmission, TKX 5 speed.
5.  Fuel Injection, Multi point, six pack throttle bodies.

Ok so my opinion is the heads you have will be fine , with a good cam choice in the 245* range @ .050 & lift in the mid .500" range you should make a nice flat powerband with a ton of torque peaking just under 6000 RPM

Chryco,
Thanks for your time and recommendations.

Sounds like a nice build. I agree, 270's for sure. Mine is only 528" and mainly street driven and raced on weekends.
