All,
Looking for a good 727 transmission rebuilder in the Milwaukee or Chicago area.  Stock rebuild.  Just don't have to time to rebuild it myself.  727 Specialist (Keith Long) in Indiana is a bit far for me.
thanks

I used Kilpatrick in Waukasha last fall for my 727 that essentially blew up at the end of the summer.  Didn't put many miles on it before winter storage, but I felt that the price was fair and it seemed to work as advertised.  The owner is a Mopar guy, working on a twin turbo Gen 3 Hemi '70 Cuda last year.    There is a Mopar swap meet next door to them that will be next week.

@gzig5 thanks for the tip.  Waukesha is only 1/2 hour from me.  When you say you blew it up I assume you mean the engine not the tranny?
thanks

Nope it was the transmission. Blew up  might've been too strong of a phrase. It sounded like there was a gnome inside of it with a sledgehammer and when I pulled the pan  the front band strut fell out. Drum was toast. It came to me in that condition

Forgive me I'm confused.  Was Kilpatrick's work in question then?  Sounds like you support their work but tranny didn't meet your expectations.  As you know it's a fair amount of work to put in a tranny.  Doing it twice is very frustrating.  Some builder's have a test stand to verify function.

Not straight on the story either. But Kilpatrick's are the known HEMI shop in these parts.

Sorry for confusion.  Bought car last spring, didn't run.  Got it running, tranny slipped. Nursed it through while working on things, trans gave the ghost end of August (gnome with hammer).  Kilpatrick fixed.  Seems to be a good job and considering the carnage inside and the parts they had to change, the price seemed very fair.  Only put about 50 miles on it before winter came and car went into storage in Port Washington.  Hope to have it out of jail in a week or two and will be able to give a more complete review in a few months but I think it was a good job and they were good to work with.
