Trans has front and rear shifter mounts.

It was assembled at the Lynch Road plant on January 23, 1970 for use in a B Body. That is based on the date code after PP833 being 3101, as it is hard for me to read for sure. O ( zero)  means 1970 model year and the A means the Lynch Rd plant which was building B bodies. The numbers on the top line after the O A, are the partial VIN of the specific vehicle. If the 4 digits after 833 on the second line are NOT 3101, you can google chrysler 10000 day calendar and get the exact day.

Great info!

Thanks!

How about this one?'

It's an 18 spline with both shifter mounts.

Assembled November 7, 1969  (3024) for use in a 1970 E body built at the Hamtramck plant. I believe the 18 splines means it came in a 440 or Hemi powered car, but not sure on that. In fact, I've never understood why 18 spline instead of 23 would come in the higher powered car. When dealing with racing axles, more splines are considered stronger. :dunno:

It's not just the spline count. The spline cut is different. Besides the fact a 23 spline outer diameter is about .990 and an 18 spline is about 1.175.

the Hamtramck 4-speed is from a Plymouth - if it has always been 18-spline it is from a "U", "V" or "R" code 'cuda - BS2??0B198982

303 Mopar

I have another one we are trying to identify. Apparently this is a OD unit and we're thinking of putting in a '73 Cuda with a 6.1. Also, if anyone knows what the gearing is supposed to be on this 4 speed OD, that would help!

1967 – 1974 A-body    2.66:1    1.91:1    1.39:1    1:1    These transmissions had a short tailshaft are were the standard four speed offered in V8 A-bodies.
