Just putting this up as reference information in case anybody ever does this in the future. I don't have anything installed yet, so I'll add to it as I move through the process. I had a lot of conflicting information over the years, everywhere from it can't be done to you need to do XYZ and PDQ to make it work. I plan on doing enough freeway driving to warrant wanting an overdrive.  I talked to Dan at Brewers and I'm pretty sure I've got this pretty nailed out now. As everyone knows, or should, Dan is the absolute man when it comes to manual transmission knowledge, seriously I think the guy is a sorcerer with some of his obscure knowledge.

A833 OD 4 speed upgrade from a later truck application with it's factory /6 bellhousing.

Old bell - clutch fork attaches with a tab.
OD bell - clutch fork attaches with a ball stud.

The easiest way to fix this, is to mill off the ball stud mount and there are two dimples to the side of it, drill and tap 2 x 5/16-18 holes and mount this bracket from Dan. Picture attached showing the drill divots

The existing outside ball stud bracket can be transferred from the old Slant six bell housing to the new.

I wasn't sure if I would need it or not, but the small block clutch rod will work as well.

As I work through the process here in the next couple of months I'll make any updates here. Highly doubtful that anybody else will do this in the future, but just in case here's a reference.  :))

The only thing flat earthers fear, is sphere itself.

Thanks for posting. I run an 833OD in my '69 cuda with a 340, works well for highway cruising.
