Is anyone running the new Edelbrock AVS2? Looking for pros and cons about it. Wanting to compare it to a Holley 650 cfm Classic carburetor.

I don't have one and I can't compare them but I've read a lot of positive comments about them. Apparently a good improvement over the AVS cars.

I ran a pair of them on my 528. No issues, if I had a stock 340 or 383 I wouldn't hesitate to use one.

I had same results on my stock-ish 340.  Night and day difference over the worn out 4160 so it wasn't a fair comparison, but other than setting idle air mixture, it didn't take much fooling around to get it to run well.
I'm currently rebuilding the 340 and it should come in between 450-475 Hp and I will be breaking-in and running the engine on that carb for a while, but I think I'm going to need at least a 750 or bigger to properly feed it.

Pros: Easy metering rod, step-up spring and jet changes
Top half of carb can be removed to make float adjustments without fuel spillage/mess
      Adjustable secondary air valve
Edelbrock adaptors available to simpify stock cable and kickdown hook-up
ported and manifold vacuum ports, as well as pcv and brake vacuum ports

Cons: Some have reported stumbles after hard acceleration just off cruise.....adjustment of the secondary air valve sometimes corrects this issue but
others have purchased bigger squirter nozzles or modified the existing one

I have a street driven Cuda with a mildly built 340 and run the Edelbrock AVS2 model 1906 (650cfm) with electric choke. Love the simplicity for tuning and dependability thus far. It is best to run a fuel regulator to limit fuel pressure to 5.5 psi or less and ensure fuel float levels are stable.

@headejm  If you are looking for one, I'm pretty sure I've got one brand new. I was going to put it on my car, but ended up putting an ATM carb on instead. I'm not sure which model number off the top of my head, but it's the 750 model with electric choke. I'll dig it up this weekend and verify.
