Hi everyone,
I recently got back to stock/factory intake and carb on my 71 R/T Challenger : I put back the stock dual plane iron intake, and a totally rebuilt 800 cfm 1971 Thermoquad carb, the one that came with my motor.

How do you guys/girls tune your Thermoquad carb ?

Where to start first ?

I had a quick/fast tuning done but it smokes a bit @ low RPMs, I think it can be better. Do you think a vacuum gauge may help me to get the good settings ?

Any help is welcome !

Thank you

Chryco Psycho

do you have the factory service manual for it ?

Factory service manual for thermoquad ?

no for the car , it covers ll the carb adjustments ,they are quite adjustable but parts can be tough to get , float levels have to be set internally when assembling the carb but there are a lot of external adjustments with the choke &  air door spring rate etc

@automate33   Here's pretty much everything you would want to know about starting to tune a Thermoquad.  Check out 72-1 and even 70-8 has some good info.
