Hi gang new guy hear. I am working on a 1970 RT challenger  I want to put the hemi pan on it for more oil without the pan hanging down ( I have made that mistake before and don't what to have another hole in the pain!)
So I called Milodan (30761)  and 440 source both said on a 70 I may have to mod the pan or K frame!! But no input as to want would have to be done. Anyone done this on a 70 and if so what did you have to mod??

Welcome from CO!  There are a couple of guys here with '70 hemis that should be able to help (@BIGSHCLUNK). You can also give @MoparDave a call at Roseville Moparts and he can not only guide you but also get you the right part at a discount!

The pan will fit 100% fine....   It will hang down about 3/4" below the K member because Hemi's & 440's have a skid plate attached to the K to protect the deeper pan... There is a reproduction of the skid plate available if you want to add it...

The other option is the road race pan which holds more oil & doesn't hang down...

I don't think you would have any issues. Go for it!  :wrenching:

It will work great, make sure you get the matching 1970 440 magnum oil pickup tube and double check it.s height (depth) in relation to the bottom of the pan.

It's is a 1970 RT Doing a full restore body shop has it on the rotisserie. We are rebuilding the rear end tonight   all new bearings posy and 3:55s
Motor is in line at the machine shop .going 284/484 111 center and a six pack when I can find a good deal on it. Still pondering the interior options.

You car, your build but thats probably not the best cam choice for a 383.... The short stroke ready doesn't respond well to to much duration unless you use allot more gear than a 3:55....   I'd be looking a something with advertised duration in the 260-270 range.....  The Lunati  10230702 would probably put a smile on your face.....

:iagree: more is not always better.

going with Rhoads lifter so lower rpms = lower lift and duration full at 3000 rpms:)

You will not have any issues with the pan. V8 K frames were all the same except for hemi and /6. Only differences on them is the stamped coin with the date code and the skid plate. I would recommend adding the skid plate to help with scrapping the pan.
I do have this pan in stock if needed.

Welcome to the site ,
The Hemi pan is no issue , it is designed to clear , once you swing the center link to one side the install is easy too
I would install a windage tray as well if the engine doesn't have one already , often you can see the windage tray from outside as there will be a thin piece of steel between the 2 gaskets .
