Well you will open a can of worms with that question. Chryco would recommend that you get one with replaceable air bleeds for tuning purposes. From your questions, I would guess you probably have never tuned a carb. Therefor I would recommend keeping it simple. The carb you referenced in your post should work fine. Having said that remember that mass produced items are made to work with many different combinations and may still need some tuning. Also I would mention that the intake on your motor is not ideal for a street driver. A single plane manifold such as yours, is designed for higher rpm performance. A better manifold for a street driven car would be a dual plane manifold that is more conducive to lower rpm street driving where torque is king. Just something to think about...

lol. Yes you are right, I have never tuned a carb other than minor adjustments on bikes etc. I appreciate your input regards the intake manifold, I think I am just gonna have to see how it performs once I have it on the road (spring next year). There sure is a lot of things to consider, and with each response to my initial post more and more things to think about. My main issue is that I have no real detail about the engine tune as the seller was selling off his fathers cars after he passed. The seller was not a car guy and couldn't give any detail. It has a Fairbanks transmission whatever that is lol.

you will be fine with the intake , not the carb I would have bought though , I guess you could still return it but it will be a hassle across the border

It was an Amazon.ca purchase. Hasn't shipped yet. That was a $600.00 part. I get that there are a million different parts, and an awful lot depends on the engine build and what the intended use is. But, that carb no good?

It is a decent carb but for similar $$ you can do far better with a Proform

:iagree:  The new "Brawler" series seems like a pretty good deal. I've heard good things about them from locals that are using them? I'm eyeing the first one in the link below for my AMC 401 ... :alan2cents:

Ya I agree, looks like the same metering block that are in my Quickfuel. I noticed the linkage is slightly different from my quickfuel but other than that...?
