Cuda has been sitting in the garage for a few weeks due to having some work done on the driveway and I find a oil spot under the trans and a drip on the bottom of the front of the trans. Pulled the inspection cover and found input shaft bolts wet and a drip on the clutch fork. All dry on the flywheel side.....and I never saw a rear main leak when just sitting.......input shaft seal??? I'm pretty sure I know the answer...but before I pull the tranny......

Looks how my input shaft seal is getting to be. Mine just started weeping. I only noticed because I had to pull the trans.  If you can get your finger on it, give it a wiff. Youll know what it is from at least.

Using Royal Purple in the motor and it doesn't look or smell like that..so I'm guessing trans

It's getting rebuilt because it grinds into 4th once in a while also. I was living with that until it started to leak...now that it's out everything gets fixed.

4 gear grind is likely the main shaft brgs as the input & main shaft can move away from each other if the brgs are worn causing the syncro to not be as effective

Agreed either that or synchro....whatever is causing that and whatever else that is questionable is getting replaced. Pulling the clutch since I don't know how long ago that was done too.....
