Motor placement

I have a question.  I'm having a problem.with my exhaust. I was told the motor needs to be off set to the right by 2 inches. Can anyone tell me if this true or not? Thanks

From the factory motors are off set to the right to clear the steering box.

Yes, it's offset ~2-1/2"
