Tried reaching out to no avail.

I'm looking for the PPG paint code for the factory orange 340 color.....

I'm guessing I'll rock Omni enamel for it.....single stage.

My LD340 is a little "off". It's more of a red-orange. For this job, I would be OK with a rattle-can job since i would just be painting the intake for the short term. If there's an over-the-counter orange that is pretty darn close enough and that would hold up for a couple years, I would greatly consider that. When I pull engine to rebuild in the distant future, it deserves no less than real paint and that's when I would use the PPG code.

i'd like to know what the PPG code is for when I do spray the whole thing professional, but If there's any quick "hacks" that are pretty solid for short term to paint an LD-340, I'm all ears. The paint that's on there is pretty decent, even though it's off. This could be a simple scuff + spray job with over the counter stuff if it's close enough for the interum.

I'm no expert on color match's but years ago I bought a 2 part engine paint from Eastwood and it looks good and holds up nice.

I'm reading that Duplicolor "Chrsyler Orange" Engine enamel seems to have been given some pretty good recommendations as far as color accuracy. For the time being, I'll give that a try since i'm just zapping the intake.

Lots of votes for Plastikote 226 as well.

I've always used EV2 (Hemi-orange, Tor-Red) enamel and had the PPG store leave the metal flake out when their mixing it.

Here's some quick VHT pics. Not exact, but it's wayyyyyyyyyyy better than it was. I would feel pretty good dropping this in now.

Looks good , make sure you block the heat crossover with a piece of the old gasket when you install it .

It needs metal to block...gasket material will below throughb...

most intake gaskets use a composite outer layer  but with a steel liner so I just cut a piece to fit the heat crossover
