Drove my car today for the first time in a year.  Only one issue.  I think I either put in to much power steering fluid or I need a gasket.

Is the dip stick cap supposed to have a gasket?

Should I drain some fluid?

Thanks in advance.

Looks a little over full, And it looks milky.....   The cap has a vent hole in it....

Yeah it shouldn't look like a chocolate milk shake.

Agreed, too full and yes it needs a gasket. GM pumps are the same I believe ?  I got one at my local jobber.

Upon further inspection, I do have a gasket.  I was reading the hot line when I filled it, should of used the cold line....rookie mistake.

The fluid looks great when removed, but yes the inside of the pump is stained and that does look nasty.

As always thanks for your help.  Time to do some clean up and get back to  :stayinlane:
