I just noticed that the shaker baseplate on my 426 has 2 "L" brackets on each side towards the front. It appears they are supposed to touch the valve cover on each side as a support of sorts... but I'm unsure. Mine aren't touching. 1/4 - 3/8" shy. It can be a pain to clear all plug wires and hoses when removing and reinstalling it because they get caught under the " feet" of these brackets. Does anyone know if they are intentionally left shy of touching the valve covers to increase the " Shaker Effect " upon acceleration ? Or... are they supposed to be lowered to sit firmly upon each side of the valve covers ? Are they levelers ? They are adjustable. Just to be clear, my baseplate is not OEM. So unsure if this is just an aftermarket thing or a faithful reproduction of the original style.
Thanks in advance... driving me nuts!!!

I'm guessing you are missing the bolt-on feet that attach to those tabs?
