Anyone have a process to remove the shift rods ?

The trans came with them installed but they have these little pigtail pins that look like they're a one time use only I will try to remove it but I couldn't figure out how so is there a process to this? I would like to keep the order and adjustment their in

I would undo the 1/2" nuts at the transmission removing the levers with the rods.
At the shifter just pull out those pig tale clips, they are reusable, just like any other clip. You won't lose your adjustment unless you start turning the swivel adjusters on each rod.
It's actually good practice to check the adjustment of the rods when you're putting them back on anyways.  :alan2cents:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Sound advice
Dumb question : is there a special way to remove those pigtail clips ? They look like they hold tension

To remove them, you're mostly trying to pull on the clip enough the get the portion marked with the arrow around the post that it's locking against.   It's been a while since I messed with those clips but best I can remember the center of the pigtail clip is raised up a bit relative to the outside ring.   The outside ring goes against the shift lever.   If you put them in the other way around, there wouldn't be any/enough tension on the spring.

P.S.: There are no dumb questions here.... just questions.   Most of us mere mortals have had plenty of them.  Fortunately, this forum is also blessed with a number of people that appear to have been born knowing all the necessary information on E-Bodies.

They are just a wrap around spring clip / reusable , just pull them out .
