I have a 70 challenger with a 440. I have been having starting issues for a while and read a lot on the heat soak and flooding with a carb. I do have heat soak issues, I think and got some great advice form members here (thank you).
Again after a ride it didn't want to start, I usually just wait a lo g while and it starts, but today I tried and battery got weak so I put cables to it and it started right up? Shut off and wouldn't start, cables on no problem. I have a mini starter and cranks pretty quickly. So long story short, does a weak battery make starting issues or does a quicker turning starter make a big difference? I have no problem starting when car is cold.

Could be either , if the starter is drawing too much load boosting it can help but the same issue with a weaker battery .
a good shop should have a load tester to see what the starter draw is .
