Timing cover

So I'm wanting to finish putting the front of my 318 together today. Cleaning up the timing cover I see a nick out of the aluminum on the face where the outer edge of the seal will sit. Is this something I need to be concerned about? Do I need to use a little gasket maker in that spot? TIA

Here's a picture. It's probably 1/4" long in the centre of that surface

The outer ring on the seal should cover ti no problem but filling it with silicone will work
