I had to replace my trunk a while ago so I don't have the old holes for the exhaust hangers and I need to figure out where I need to land the holes for the support. I'm using TTI exhaust, but I don't think that matters much. Currently I will be using the turn down tips, but I will be replacing to square tips soon. I already have the cutout valance, but I only have one jenky exhaust tip.I can eyeball it for one side an "estimate" for the other. I was wondering if any one had measurements that would work with a replacement trunk? Maybe based off the frame rail or other parts from the underside. Or is it best to just eyeball it? I can probably create a reversed cardboard copy of the tip I have and use that as part of the mock up.

Thoughts, ideas, or tips? It's for a 70 Challenger(that will be ready to roll shortly after this :stayinlane: )

Your new floor should have the two rectangular shaped dimples in it where the factory exhaust hangers mount.  If you have the hangers they will dictate the exact location of the holes as they pretty much fill the dimple and will kind of self-center.

Nope, no marks. I can guess and get it in a relatively close location but nothing exact.

every e-body trunk floor ever stamped has had those rectangular depressions.   See the pictures that MoparCarGuy posted...

If you don't have those depressions then you must have a weird aftermarket floor or someone fabricated it...

The early reproduction trunk floors were two piece and you had to mark & drill out all of the holes yourself, very likely the depressions for the exhaust hangers weren't there either. I had saved this diagram someone posted for a reference. It's for a Cuda but Challenger should be the same except for the location of the fuel filler.

I annotated the diameter of each hole for reference.
