Hey Guys,
In brief, blew a hole in one of my mufflers yesterday. They are 30 years old, so what can you expect? Problem is, I forget what kind they are and when I replace them, I want the same sound. They are the flat, oval style, inlet and outlet are opposite. My best guess is Thrush Turbos? I think they where the hot muffler back in the day. Anyway, need some opinions on muffle choices. 340, mild build, fireball cam, headers... Feedback / opinion's always much appreciated! Thanks gents!

I'm using Dynomax super turbo mufflers in my system. Good tone at idle and cruising without being obnoxious. I prefer the sound of these versus the chambered style such as Flowmaster which have a much different tone.

I don't run mufflers at all. I have the round resonators out back and the car sounds good and not overly loud either. Just some food for thought.

Cherry Bombs were the preferred choice in my area back in the day !  They are fiberglass packed which blew out quickly.  :D
