I understand how to attach pictures and insert them into the text of my posts.

When using photos, it appears that I have to attach the file first then insert it into the text. When the attached images are inserted into the text they show up in both the text and then again at the bottom of the post. This seems redundant. I prefer to insert images into specific places in the text because it helps to illustrate what you're trying to get across rather than having everything at the bottom without any context.

Is there a way to insert images into the text without having them show up at the bottom of the post as well?

If I understand correctly, I think the pictures that appear on the Non posted reply will not show on the actual post except where you wanted to install them in the post.

The pictures at the bottom are not where they show up in an actual post.

Am I reading what your writing correctly?

Then again, I tried to post the picture where my cursor was and it put the picture at the bottom of the page.

I know there is a way to put the picture in the text area without it being at the bottom of the picture.

It is interesting that the photos are duplicated at the bottom @TwitchisMental

Exactly.

When I do the click and drag image function, it retrieves the file from my computer but that only attaches it to the post. Once it's attached selecting it allows the user to "insert" it where the cursor is but again, that duplicates the image file.

This picture is attached and placed in the text but it also shows up at the bottom of the post.

The same thing is below showing as an attachment.

Yes. That's what I'm trying to avoid.

This is the first time I have observed this, I'm just a member
Maybe there's a setting that @Cuda Cody or @TwitchisMental can change

I like the way images are able to be pasted directly into a post on the For A,B,C,E,F-Bodies Only forums.
So much easier to copy paste pictures right into the post instead of having to web host or upload (Drag and Drop) them...
If you use the html code "[img ]http://[ /img]" to insert a link to the image hosted somewhere on the web, they don't end up at the bottom... That's how I usually post images. They look like this.

I think it come down to where the photo is hosted.  If it's hosted on this site (you attach it) and then link it in the text, then it will likely show up twice.  If it's hosted on a different site and linked in the text, it will only show up once.  or if you only attach it (host on this site) then it should only show up at the bottom.  :)

I kinda figured that. I used to use Photobucket but we know how that went. It's just easier to use local files. Hopefully one day there will be a way around this quirk in the code. All good.

So much easier

I hate to compare this site to "joey's" sites but this function on the for only sites is very convenient to drag pictures to the text box from anywhere on the web and install them where you want is a HUGE plus to his sites.
The alert system is also pretty good on those sites.
