Oh: That car was nice. Last I heard it was found in California I think. Parked under a pine tree and it was rotten. Just a shame.

Yes........that was me....back in 1971 or so...........Original wheels were steel, red with center caps and trim rings., I opted at the dealer to switch with another Challenger for the 14" with the wire covers...((They put the red wheels on a Green Challenger))..   Mine..340, Auto on the column, bench seat with folding arm rest. Rally dash. Wish I could find that one again........bought at Piedmont Dodge in Martinsville , Va.  in 1970.

You know... the more I see pictures of those slot rims , the more I like them! I wanted them for my work van but never did get around to it.

Remember when people used to paint inside the slots bright red or orange ?  We had a lot of "frenchies" in our area...maybe that was their thing 8)
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Dick ran Cragars and Ronnie ran Keystones, I figured if they were good enough for those guys that's what I ran.

I remember putting gas in my Mother's 73 Caprice and having to pull the license plate down and filling the gas tank at the rear of the car.

Funny, but looking at these retro pics, it still surprises me just how just how high up in the air these cars were. With today's low and sleek bodies designed to keep too much air from getting under the body, these old cars sitting up so high almost look like SUV's!!
Cheers!

Tis' better to have owned classic Mopars and lost than to have never owned at all (apologies to Alfred Lord Tennyson)

Yup, and some insist it was stock that way. Memories are funny that way.
