18 spline or 23 spline 4 speed

Hello All . I was have a conversation with another mopar friend last night, when the subject of transmissions came up. In particular 4 speeds. He told me 18 spline 4 speeds only came with Hemi's.
I said that they also came on 440 cars. He politely told i was mistaken. With so many knowledgeable people on this board i would like to know which one of us is correct.
