1969 radio help

anybody knowing what this is ,have never seen anything like it before there is a footswitch to giant radio and something on the back of the radio it is from my 69 chrysler  :notsure:

Im guessing a transistor, Delco DS501.

Not sure about the foot switch ,maybe a homemade on off.

The finned aluminum is for cooling, something to do with FM-stereo. the foot switch  :dunno: if i had to guess, maybe to change stations or volume.  :popcorn:

This is just a guess I was at a car show last year seen a 67 GTO under top of his dash pad above the speedometer was a switch it read rever or reverator, I talked to the owner he said it had something to do with the radio his did not work, he thought it affected the sound some how, never seen one before or sence

a Chrysler "Town & Country" radio - the footswitch is the "SEEK" button on a modern radio - and you get to keep your hands on the steering wheel  :stayinlane:
