I restored two Challenger recently and both repro dash pads were beautiful. The bad news is I can't recall where they came from as I bought both cars with the parts already bought for them. You will get plenty of good opinions here though, You want a metal frame though.

@70rtse   :welcome: Welcome to the site.  The 2 best options are new reproduction dashes on steel cores like the ones @MoparDave  sells that are made by Ultimate Rides.  They are really the best value and top quality.  The 2nd option is a company called Just Dashes.  They make really nice dashes too and they use steel cores also, but the price is much higher.   :alan2cents:

best bang for your dollar is the pads we sell. they are manufactured on an original steel core. NOT ABS I refuse to sell those and that is what you will see at Year One and Classic.  These use a more correct grain material than JD does.  The process with these is a better process than JD as one strips off all old material and starts new, vs the other pulls the vinyl off and fixes the foam. JD pads are puffy and you can spot them easily. Neither pad is perfect but are close. you may have to trim some foam, and will have to trim some material back around the speaker and the light bar area. if you interested in a pad from us. i'll need to know year, 1 or 3 speaker and if you have AC and color.

I sure wish someone would do the 70 Challenger pad close to correct..... What is made is decent but far from correct....  Funny thing is I've had half a dozen people ask why my pad is wrong/different from everyone else's.... The new pads are much rounder, softer lines... A true 70 pad has a fairly sharp defined edge around the cluster... Also the top surface doesn't dip in so original 70 Challenger outboard speaker grills don't fit very well....

I'm one of those guys who picked up an OEM black non air 3 speaker '70 Challenger dash pad, with  the speaker grills, blemish free for $100.00. A buddy of mine had it wrapped up and tucked away in his garage from an abandoned '70 Challenger R/T project. He was just ready to sell. Thanks,   Al

I'm afraid deals like that don't come around too often....I've recently sourced 4 original pads and paying in the $1500-$2000 range each. :crying:

www.abcmoparts.com is now making Ebody pads with original steel cores.

He just recently is supplying Year One with pads.

EDIT: I think he is using the Year One mold, but ABC is making them and ABC is sourcing OE steel cores.

He showed me the different grains he has for 70 vs 71-74.

ABC Parts will be at Spring Fling 33, April 13 & 14, 2019 for you to see them in person

Your links aren't working, at least not for me...I get a wrecking yard in IL ?

Are you sure the guy you were talking too is not somehow affiliated with Alan Foxx of Ultimate Rides ?

Alan, how well I know the deal I made, and for the cost and it being  squirreled away for so long. I've told this story and have shown the dash to people many times. In their amazement I hear "Do you have problems sleeping at night?" I was in the right place at the right time, that's all. If they knew the rest of the story. For a separate $100.00 from the same guy I purchased the rest of the interior pieces. A complete OEM SE black interior, all very well taken care of. Kick panels, SE door panels, back panels w/ arm rest ashtrays, visors, seat backs and hinges, A pillar covers, lower dash trim, all,the trim around inside of the windows, steering wheel w/ black pad (alas no console). Just in the right place at the right time.  Thanks,   Al

Sorry, this is the correct link: https://abcmoparts.com

No. Not affiliated with Fox.

He was at Fall Fling showing his pads in person (So was Fox).

ABC Parts is Bob Baker in Arizona and has been making 71-74 B-body pads, C-body pads, 67 A-body pads and other holes in the market.

Funny how things change. I ask a WIW question on Moparts a few years back about how much an original pad was worth and all I got back was " way less than the repops" reply. Everyone said an original pad will crack eventually so it's not worth as much. I installed my perfect 71 non ac in my race car and forgot about it.
