Hi I'm in Alberta Canada
I have a survivor car and have questions, I'm needing to change some parts, it's been sitting since 84 and it needs tires exhaust brakes and carb kit  and would like to freshen up cooling system.
What can I change and still keep survivor status
Thanks Bruce

Those things are accepted as they are wearable parts. Paint is the big no no. I would go to a proper OEM style exhaust and I would try to get OEM style repro tires as well. Have the original rad cleaned and checked by a radiator shop and a new core installed keeping the original tanks, straps, shroud etc.

What's the plan for the car, are you going to drive it?
Keep any part you change and enjoy it.

Welcome to the site from Panama !

My plan was to drive and enjoy it some, but with manual brakes and steering probably not any long distances

Also where's a person find a aftermarket original exhaust and tires thanks

Welcome!

FYI, my manual brakes have been rebuilt and stop my 70 Challenger just fine.

Leave extra room between you and the car in front (always a good idea anyway) and press as hard as needed to come to a safe stop.

Great car. You'll find it isn't so bad driving it with manual steering and brakes. There's a fellow that posts on here with the repro polyglas tires (smallhurst or something like that). I think ECS is the goto for original style exhaust.

There was a dealer for repro tires in Alberta however I can't recall the name now.

Welcome from Montreal! Great looking 'Cuda, good idea to keep it as original as possible, but keeping it driveable!
If you want absolutely correct exhaust:

Nice quality repros:

For tires, we have a member with great prices on repro Polyglas, etc... You'd need to look at the broadcast sheet, if you have one, to see exactly what was original to your car.... smallhurst@gmail.com Russell Small

Welcome to the site
Nice survivor Cuda, glad you are keeping it as original as possible,
Already mentioned; Accurate Exhaust is probably the best for original style systems
Re-coring for the radiator can get expensive, but worth it for originality.
There some good services available here from vendors; Scott Smith at Harms has a great reputation for carb rebuilds.

Summit Racing is a good option for tires when International shipping is involved :alan2cents:

If you don't have a good radiator shop available locally, here is a good option for having your original restored

If you still have original master cylinder, calipers and wheel cylinders, you'll obviously want to rebuild the originals instead of swapping them out for rebuilds.  The master cylinder and calipers for 1970 are specific to that year only, can be difficult to track down, and are spendy when you find them, so hold onto yours if you are lucky enough to still have them. :alan2cents:

@Jd 63 got more pics  :wowzers:  and I always thought long drives require less braking & steering effort

any chance you can get pics of that manual drum brake master cylinder  :takepicture:
