BIGSHCLUNK

Dec 27th was my shop's 35th anniversary.  :unbelievable: Looking back I'm not sure how I did it. A crap ton of stress at times. Employee issues, usually phsyc or theft. Massive changes in the industry, multiple times. The never ending flow of bills and taxes. You gotta have stones my brothers or you will get chewed up and shit out. On the other hand the little shop in the valley has given me some security (was inspired by the lack there of after pouring in a boat load on to have my department phased out by a previous employer.) Allowed me to invest. Buy property in multiple states. Have a car with those weird spark plug holes in the valve covers. Made a few friends way back when we started that are still friends today. I live a pretty conservative lifestyle, the only person I need to impress is that guy looing at me in the mirror. He can be a real A hole at times. This whole program really is a love / hate relationship for sure.  Now that 65 is coming up on me real soon, I'm thinking of slowing down a little.  Maybe only 40 hours a week.....

Now I'm wondering what my inspiration was for this thread..  :Stirring:

:bravo: You can chalk some of it up to Insanity!  The love hate thing, the auto industry has changed but not for the better. I am not sure if i had to start today instead of the mid 80's, it would work.  :dunno:

Congratulations BIGS! Phase yourself out of that job. There's more to life. Based on my first year, retirement is pretty darn good.

Thanks guy's!  I will say to start this circus all over again, I would do my best to talk you out of it.  :stop: But it's what I do, a bar called " CHEERS" was already taken.

I did promise the wife we'd get NIKKI out a little more often, put the top down and just cruise.  :burnout:

Congrats on the milestone Bigs - that's quite an accomplishment!   I'm with Murray on that retirement thing, but do what makes you happy.
