Going to look at a original paint numbers matching Black 69 Dart 340  GTS tomorrow. Need Restoration from what I can see in the pictures. Since I sold both my cars  and looking at retirement I thought this may be a nice project. It is only 15 minutes from my home so it is worth a looks see. Just wondering if any body was in to these A-Bodies.

Sure.  They are cool cars!  My 68 convertible still looks like this...

...but I'm hoping to have it looking like this fairly soon.

When I took apart my 68, I was surprised at how many fasteners there were.  IMO the A-bodies (at least my convertible) were put together better then the E-bodies were.

I like them. My friend has an almost finished black 340, 4 speed Swinger I am thinking about picking up, they look great in black. I haven't been a gen III Hemi fan but another thing I am thinking of doing is a gen III swap into an A-body to make a bracket racer.

Picked up this incredibly solid and complete driver for its age.

Father/daughter project... yeah she's into Mopar.

67 gt vert, Slant six, replacing front fenders, leaf springs and looking for a better hood all else is decent.

She hasn't decided on new color yet, thinking white with black tail stripes.    White should be forgiving for DIY body work  :).

@js27 I love Darts. I owned an orange '69 Swinger 340 and kept it for a few years. Fun car to drive and very fast. I prefer the 1970 version with the hood scoops and will own one some day.

How much are they asking for the GTS? You will have to be careful with the depth of restoration due to the lower value on A-bodies. Got any pictures of the car? Good luck and keep us posted.

@Jocigar   Are you going with the stock flat hood or going to the GTS style hood?  Where are you from?

Have a great respect for Darts. They are what introduced me to the Mopar world hanging with a Dart club.
70/73 340s and a couple 74 360s.

Saw this recently at the last "Fling" show

@headejm Yes I also had a 70 340 Swinger back in the 70's. Very cool cars. Do you know if they is a Dart Swinger 340 and a Dart GTS 340 ? Were all 340's GTS in 69 ?? Yes I know the resale value fro nice restored cars is in the mid $30,000. Not sure how bad this one is until I see it. I will try to get some photo's.

The biggest engine you could get in a GT in 69 was the 318.  The 340 and 383 were GTS only.

Looks like there was a GTS and Swinger 340 in 69.
