Hello Everyone,

This is probably more for folks who live out in the country like myself.

One day a gentleman stopped at my place while I was cutting grass. Since I am a transporter, I am rarely home, so he lucked out. I live way out in the country & except for the occasional J.W. we never get sales people. He proceeded to show me a framed 24x18 aerial photo of my "compound" To say I was amazed at how great it looked would be an understatement! They had taken the pictures months ago & the best part is they must have taken them just after I had arrived home from a trip or was just preparing to leave on a trip, because you can see my dually & enclosed trailer parked by the house (normally both trucks & trailers are inside the shop) Also shown is my pen for the dogs just behind the trailer. I was able to narrow the time the picture was taken by the fact that the building addition was complete, but I had not finished the two tone on the north side of the building yet.

God bless
Bill

Your living my dream....  I considered going for it, I could justify the buy in but found it hard to accept the reoccurring property tax increase of about $4500 per year....  And momma ain't willing to leave the state so I can have a bigger playground....

I have one from Google Earth........lol

Looks like a nice place you have there.  :bigthumb:

I have one of my property but unfortunately it was taken during a flood {I live along the Susquehanna river}...My buddy flew over the area in a state police helicopter, snapped the pic, then sent it to me...Just what I needed a reminder of having the airboat parked at the front porch{it's 6ft of steps normally}...

I've taken a lot of aerial pictures over the years, but can't take one of my house because it's within O'Hare airports airspace and I can't fly over my house without permission from O'Hares controllers.  I've looked at Google earth pictures of it before though.
Funny thing with Google earth. For a year or two the image they showed had my B5 '09 Challenger sitting in the driveway.  Almost always if I'm home, my '09 is in my garage so it was quite a coincidence they took their picture when it was out. Sadly they put a new picture up later with it not there.

We had someone stop by the shop years ago with an aerial shot, still hangs on the wall in the sales area to this day

@JH27N0B , have you tried using the 'Show Historical Imagery ' button to go back in time ?
It is above the cursor arrow at top center in the attached photo, or top left on Google Earth.

IRON MAN

Aerial shots are becoming more popular when a house goes up for sale in my neighborhood. The realtors must be using drones. Makes for a good selling strategy. I have printed Zillow's aerial photos of nearby homes for sale if my property is included in the photo.

The use of drones have become extremely popular for arial photography. Pity that some operators feel they have a right to fly them anywhere and snap away.

Pic of my lakefront property.

Had this done at my old property.  I think it's an easy sell for them.  I wouldn't mine having one of my current property - hopefully in the spring when it's still green

I bit the bullet 14 years ago.  I had 5 acres and a 2400sqf shop that was filled with cars and no place to work.  So went on a search for 10+ acres so I could build a bigger shop.  My budget back then was $500K.  I found a place, without the help of my useless realtor, that was on 19 acres, problem was it was $575K.  Then my house value went up $30K, interest rates went done and I could swing it at $567,500

Nine months later I built a 4000sqf metal shop.

The drawback of coarse is property tax.  Bill came yesterday,  it's $11,438.30 annually.

The part that really pisses me off is that I lost 2 acres to imminent domain to improve the levee along the Sacramento River and part of taxes goes to that so I feel like I pay $1600 annually to steal from myself.

To Alan & Morty...All I can say is OUCH!

They ought to cut your grass & walk your dogs for that much property tax.

Not to make anybody feel bad but I pay about $2200.00 per year in property taxes for the place pictured in my original post

  God bless
